A diamond is one of the only purchases you’ll make that can cost a lot of money and you potentially have very little understanding of why?  When doing an appraisal, I love having a GIA diamond grading report to work with to help value the piece.  When I have a GIA report…I know the measurements, color, clarity, and cut are accurate.  As a consumer, the GIA cert insured that for whatever dollars you spend on a diamond, you’re getting exactly what you’re paying for.
